Mike and Cam formed Motiv Creative Labs in May 2024 - turning a work friendship into a creative partnership. At Motiv's core, creativity comes first and one of our biggest goals is helping talented artists and entrepreneurs get the recognition they deserve. We're dedicated to unleashing the potential of creators and amplifying those voices so they rise above.
Mike Mara, CEO
Born in Victoria, BC, and raised in Kamloops, BC, Mike is the son of a native Hawaiian reggae musician, and an Irish-American psychologist from Alabama. He has 20 years of experience in graphic design and 14 in the print industry, so he's got some stories.
Oh, and he's also a two-time BC Summer Games silver medalist—because why not.
Mike started MOTIV in 2004 as a graphic design and artistic side-hustle, but the company didn't officially launch until Cam came on board in 2024.

Born in Vancouver, BC, and raised in Comox, BC, Cam grew up in the presence of art and nature. Her grandparents inspired her to become a painter during her frequent visits to Coquitlam as they played a large part in the art community. Art shows were hosted at family gatherings and paintings were sold for 25 cents a piece. Proceeds typically went towards Nestle Bugz popsicles.
Before Motiv, Cam received a diploma in Graphic Communications Technology Management from BCIT. She worked as a Project Manager at a print shop for car wraps, murals, and beer can labels.
Cam designs all of Motiv’s advertisements.
